Discover The New Forest
Minstead is just 2.7 miles from Lyndhurst known as the ‘Capital’ of the New Forest and where you will find the grave of ‘Alice in Wonderland’
Minstead is a very quiet village and the village green is the focal point where you will find the village shop which sells a large selection of local produce and with a very large selection of cheeses, and comes complete with coffee garden and the local pub which has a good selection of food available and a large garden.
Near to the village green is the village church which dates back to Saxon times and where you will find the grave of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle the author of Sherlock Holmes.
Minstead is within the New Forest national Park and so New Forest ponies, cows, donkeys and even an occasional pigs wander down the lane and the road to the village.
The New Forest covers an area of over 210 square miles of Forest and open heath land, and has many wonderful walks and cycle tracks where one can get away from the traffic and see the New Forest Ponies, cows and if you are lucky many different species of deer and even Honey Buzzards.
Minstead is also close to the A31, A35 and the M27 which makes it an ideal location for exploring the area.
